Vanilla Cranberry Cooler MockTail review

When it comes to Cocktails I am a bit of a snob. Not because I am fussy, but because I have been lucky enough to have a few at some of the country’s best cocktail bars! So my levels of expectation are extremely high. Let’s not waste any time and jump straight into the Vanilla Cranberry Cooler MockTail review #TastyCocktails #CocktailReview

While wondering around and enjoying the upbeat vibes of the South Coast, I found myself asking locals where would be the best place to enjoy a sundowner cocktail, and the answer always came back as The Cock & Tail Café.

Considering how highly recommended The Cock & Tail Café was, I decided to head over to wet my pallet and see if all the ranting and raving was indeed undisputable.

I was presented with a vast cocktail menu, which instantly raised red flags as in all past encounters with large cocktail menus, I had found that a majority of the cocktails were the same except for a small variation, such as one using orange juice and the next cranberry juice and so on…

My server left me to deconstruct the menu one drink at a time. Surprisingly each cocktail listed included an exact list of ingredients being used, and to my delight each cocktail was unique and had no resemblance to each. Another point I thought was worth noting is that they stuck true to the classics we have all come to know and love, as well as they have added several creations of their own which is always tremendous so see.

As I explain in most of my reviews, to grow your pallet and to better appreciate flavours, one should always try something new, and that is exactly what I did!

I opted for a MockTail. A moctail is a non-alcoholic version of a cocktail. In past experiences I have not had much joy with mocktails as I found them to be very ‘cooldrinky’ and not a true reflection of its alcohol infused brother.

When my Vanilla Cranberry Cooler MockTail arrived I was thrilled to see it looked the part! So that was the first tick on my check list. I always say presentation is half the experience.

My first sip was without a doubt the most interesting. It did not have the initial punch in the face alcohol flavour, which I expect considering it was a mocktail however, I did not need to take another sip to confirm it was a true reflection of the alcoholic version. It was not overly sweet nor bitter as there was a masterful bended between the two.

As I kept sipping away I could not help but think how grateful I was that it was a mocktail because I could have sat there drinking these beauties all day long!

On my 1 to 5 star rating system this drink would have to score a solid 4.

A shout out to the locals who pointed me in the right direction for the best cocktail in town.

For those of you searching for a culinary experience, look no further than The Cock & Tail Cafe. Nestled in the hub of Margate which is the trendiest suburb on the Hibiscus South Coast.

The restaurant is located on the beach front of the ever popular Margate Main Beach which is very convenient and easy to find. There is also ample safe street parking, you can’t miss it. No reservation is needed but I would suggest that if you are looking for a specific table or wanting to book during in-peek holiday seasons.
