Little Keshivan Govender, who is just under 3 years old, is in need of urgent medical treatment that would improve his current condition so that he could walk and improve his other sensory functions.
Having being diagnosed with Spastic Cerebral Palsy soon after birth, it was recommended that Keshivan acquire international medical treatment involving stem cell treatment at the Shenzhein Beike Biotechnology Co. Ltd associated hospitals in Thailand, where such treatments have enjoyed high success rates.
According to his parents, Jason and Charmaine Govender of Marburg, Port Shepstone
“Keshivan cannot crawl or sit up on his own, he has just started to have some head control, he has to be fed as he cannot bring things to his mouth as yet (no hand‐to‐mouth coordination).
He does not follow objects with his eyes; he depends on sound to respond when someone speaks to him. He weighs about 12kgs. We have to carry him around as he cannot walk.”
After a thorough review of Keshivan’s medical information, international physicians at Beike
Biotechnology associated hospitals have confirmed that a primary diagnosis of Cerebral
Palsy is treatable.
With treatment estimated to be costing US$ 29000 (R 464 000 ) –excluding travel costs, family, friends, colleagues and the community immediately rallied behind the family to set up a Medical Fund to assist with fundraising drives so that Little Keshivan could go to Thailand in June/July to get the necessary 4‐ 6 week stem cell treatment.
As there is great hope for Little Keshivan to at least walk and regain some of his senses and lead a normal life, an appeal is made to anyone who can help, and donate to the
